About Vitula Cottage

Vitula Cottage is a stunning barn conversion set in the beautiful grounds of the owner's farmhouse just north of the Shropshire Hills AONB. This countryside escape sits on a quiet country lane surrounded by open green fields and spectacular rural views. Perfect for anyone wanting to escape the city and soak up some peace.

The location is a walker's paradise. Miles of trails start right from your doorstep. Fancy a drink? The nearest pub is just 1.6 miles away - close enough for a nice evening stroll but far enough that you won't hear the karaoke at 11pm. The market town of Wem is 4.8 miles away, while historic Shrewsbury is just 11.2 miles south. The hot tub in the conservatory is the perfect place to soak your tired muscles after a day exploring.

This two-bedroom, two-bathroom property sleeps four adults comfortably (sorry kids under 12, this one's not for you). We were welcomed by Sally who offered to show us around but this was our second visit so there was no need. Everything was as we expected, clean , fresh and well maintained. We celebrated our Golden Wedding Anniversary there with steak and chips etc and everything was available to cook a great meal. The hot tub was the icing on the cake and we enjoyed the experience. Would thoroughly recommend that you make the effort to stay there for a while.

Gorgeous cottage with everything needed for a getaway. Fully equipped kitchen and a dishwasher. The underfloor heating was lovely and the beds were so comfortable. Sally was brilliant with help and advice before we arrived and recommended a lovely pub. She greeted us on arrival and then left us too it however we knew we could contact her if needed. The views from the lounge were stunning and we even had rabbits in the garden. I would highly recommend to all for a peaceful getaway

Four friends stayed for a week at Vitula Cottage & can honestly say its the best accommodation we have ever stayed in. Spotlessly clean throughout..both bedrooms ensuite with very comfortable beds. A very well equipped kitchen with everything you could think of for an enjoyable stay. Set in a rural location with stunning countryside views we really had a relaxing time here. Sally the owner met us on arrival & was very welcoming. Lovely touches of homemade cakes & jam along with fresh flowers made for a real home from home feel. We enjoyed a very relaxing week in this wellequipped and comfortable cottage following a warm welcome from the owner. The homebaked cakes and homemade jam were most welcome on our arrival. The fresh flowers were a thoughtful touch and really appreciated. The secluded location and privacy suited us very well but it was good to know that Sally and Alan were available for any queries or problems that we might have had. The cottage proved to be an ideal base for visiting various places of interest in the surrounding area.

Anyone would be privileged to stay at Vitula Cottage Everything is done to such a high standard, and so inviting. you feel soo relaxed as soon as you are settled in. It is like a Home for a holiday with the peace & quiet, There are Stunning views all around you there is no need for entertainment you can just relax & watch the wildlife. Rabbits, squirrels stoat, fox, etc There are variety of birds, including pheasants Oh and in the evening's the bats entertain you flying back and forth. When you get into bed it is like floating on air, I have never slept so well & the bedding is so clean, fresh & cosy. The kitchen has everything you could want it is so well equipped in case you wanted to cook while you are away. As for the owners Sally and Alan they are such a lovely couple. Sally meets you on your arrival with some home made cakes which would win top prize in the Bake off series. They are nearby if you need them, But they leave you in peace to enjoy your holiday. What else can I say I think I have covered everything The best holiday I have had in years. I would quite happily move in tomorrow Thank you so much Sally & Allan

Vitula cottage is a wonderful place to stay. Close to lots of places to visit. Great for visiting Shrewsbury. The cottage has everything you need plus additional luxuries like the hot tub. It was very clean and comfortable. The owner is on hand should you need her but does not intrude on your holiday.

The accommodation was top notch. We were lucky to have superb weather. This enabled us to fully open the bifold doors and sit on the decking. The views, the peace and quiet, guaranteed complete relaxation. We bought bird seed, which encouraged many birds plus a squirrel.
This is delightful cottage deep in the charming Shropshire countryside. Set in a spacious garden with many established trees, it is a magnet for wildlife. We were lucky enough to spot rabbits, squirrels, bats and buzzards amongst the usual garden and woodland birds. It is a perfect bolthole for 2 people who enjoy additional rooms and space, but is equipped for 4. The spacious hot tub in the conservatory is perfect for any weather with good views across the countryside. An additional touch was the tin of delicious home made buns on arrival. The owners have gone to considerable effort in making this a clean, comfortable and well appointed rental and they deserve repeated bookings.
We had a most pleasant two week holiday, based in this delightful property, in a rural location. The house was well presented with everything we required and the location was central to all we wished to do. Sally was most helpful, but not intrusive. We would definitely stay again should ae wish to return to this area

The Cottage was immaculate, great views, and the hot tub was perfect after a days walking aound the local towns and villages. The kitchen had every utensil, pot and pan you needed to cook a meal. The bird feeder positioned just off the decking saw a variety of birds and squirrels come and go during the day very pleasant to watch whilst eating breakfast. Remember to bring a pair of crocs for the short walk from the cottage to the hot tub. Overall the perfect country retreat and Sally's cup cakes were to die for!

Thanks for a wonderful stay. Shrewsbury and Ellesemere very close by with nice walks, shopping and eateries. The only downside for me is that the cottage isn't dog friendly, as I'd love to visit again with my husband and dog!

This is a lovely place, well set out & comfortable. The bedrooms are a good size with space for your clothes, not living out a case. The bathrooms are clean and do the job. The open plan space of the lounge & kitchen is really nice, just a few little things in the kitchen are missing. We should have had a chat with Sally but didn't, because I am sure that she would have made amends, she is a lovely person & will look after you. Her cakes are really nice too. Finally the hot tub is another plus for the venue, we were only a party of four so it was plenty big enough for us. It's set up in a conservatory, which is different, great if it's raining. The surrounding area has two pubs less than 2 miles from the cottage, in opposite directions. But I wouldn't recommend walking to or from these in the dark as the road is very tight with lots of bends. Definitely worth a visit though. Overall an excellent venue which we would definitely return to again.

Me and the hubby came here for 4 nights just to get away and relax and we surely did that, Sally was there upon arrival showed us around and hot to use the hit tub which was lush and relxing. A lovely spacious cottage, beautifully decorated, comfortably furnished and well maintained. Lovely gardens with views over the Shropshire countryside. We were visited by a variety of wildlife including a Tawny Owl. It was well placed for visiting local attractions and we can definitely recommend the breakfast at Sleap Airfield!
