Get ready for a day of exploring, pull on your walking shoes and head to the end of the garden to find the gate which leads straight onto the Shropshire Union Canal footpath, with this historic trail leading northwards to Chirk, over the Chirk Aqueduct via via The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Pontycysyllte Aqueduct & Canal and up to Llangollen, or southwards towards Ellesmere, with either route providing lovely scenery and great for all abilities. The village of St Martins is home to a supermarket and two local convenience shops, as well as an M&S Food being less than half a mile away, with The Poachers and The Keys being excellent pubs all within a mile of Belmont Bridge. Within easy walking distance, there are two wonderful restaurants offering great menu choices.
